If you are visiting New York, then chances are you are simply planning on either driving or taking a taxi everywhere while you are in the city. These options, however, are less than ideal. If you simply need to go a long distance as fast as possible, then you may want to consider the bus or subway. Either of these options can get you to just about anywhere in the city and then you can walk, ride, or skate from there. Most buses in New York will be equipped with a bike rack on the front, so you will usually be able to store your bike if you need to take the bus.

There are many other ways to get around New York without a car. If you prefer to get some exercise while you are commuting, then a bike or rollerblades are excellent options. On the other hand, if you want to relax on your commute then the bus or subway may be the better option.
